Re: [Discussion] BrainMed

I think your 'juggling chemicals' problem might be more a mindset-going-in thing than an actual complexity in the system- I personally just stab people with the things they need and it works, and I don't think the current system is daunting at all. 'Utility belt of magic potions' can be fixed in a ...

Re: [Discussion] BrainMed

TLDR: Keep our medical system, make changes to it, instead of going to Bay's system and making changes to it. Everything listed in the 'pros' of the initial post can be done here, with our system. Those aren't unique bay-specific exclusives. ------------ To add on to my post before: Even with the ch...

Re: [Discussion] BrainMed

No. I don't play on Bay because I hate their system. Polaris and downstream servers are the only ones I bother with now, and if those switch to Brainmed, that's pretty much the day I stop playing Medical. Lolman is drastically overstating "chems fix everything". Chems fix damage types. Surgery fixes...

Re: [Discussion] Low Pop and department aids

Autocloner would only be used on lowpop. If the autocloner is being used, it's lowpop or you lack medical. If it's lowpop and/or you lack medical, there's a high chance that cryo hasn't been set up and the player might not know how. If the players aren't medical and don't know how, then you end up w...

... Isn't this the exact reason for not wanting positive traits? Like... the issues that people would mix and match traits to create the ideal loadout for a specific role?

Re: Reinstate Multisurgery

Given that it's: - Fun - Challenging compared to everything else you can do in surgery - Doesn't really affect balance, since it'll reduce surgery-time by like 40 seconds if you do it perfectly, and that's pretty much it. - It's rewarding when you pull it off. - Adds an extra layer of mechanics to a...

Re: On the removal or significant alteration of Prometheans.

This is honestly a bit sad. Prometheans are absurdly easy to kill. They take twice the damage from lasers. If you shoot them once or twice, they're down. If they happen to get away, it's because you suck, simply put. With xenotasers, same thing. If a promethean manages to out-robust you if you have ...

Re: Advanced First Aid Kits for Doctors

Cargo is already important. It's where we get better voidsuits, myelamine, large beakers, extra stasis bags, extra phoron, etc. We're already forced to rely on cargo for this equipment, which, on high-intensity rounds, ends up getting used fairly quickly. Misty pretty much summed up everything else....

Dex+ takes phoron, all phorochems are listed as advanced.
And coolant is so esoteric most people forget about it b/c only xenoarch ever uses it, so I can see why it was forgotten.
Dexalin Plus doesn't need phoron. Dexalin does, but you start out with dexalin pills.

You can get tramadol pills, is the thing.
You can also make Dexalin Plus out of the pills, but that's listed as advanced.
