Re: [Discussion] Planetside Shuttles, Pilots

Xenoarch is still planetside. Big part of why I never visit it as RD unless specifically asked. At least xenobio and a good part of xenobotany got moved to the station semi-recently . Also, from the research perspective, anything that helps miners get back to the station more often is a good thing b...

Re: [Discussion] Planetside Shuttles, Pilots

I guess we'll just have to disagree on what's reasonable. Given the specific concern mentioned by Atermonera, I'm probably not alone? I think that shuttles and pilots need to be actually interesting are to be more than "time sink" and "reduce time sink" respectively; thankfully, Neerti is actually w...

Re: [Discussion] Planetside Shuttles, Pilots

It's more like 10 minutes if you have bad timing. What might be nice would be if two autopiloted shuttles would be exactly opposite each other (one landed on the planet, one docked in the hangar; they start that way iirc?), and for shuttles put back on autopilot to try and get back to that rhythm. A...

Re: De-escalation of the Sec/Antag arms race

Just going to add that aside from `muh antags`, you can also get heavy weaponry and mechs from Research and one mining load is typically enough to outshine the entire armory, especially if you get a diamond or three. Granted, that depends on mining making a first delivery at a reasonable point in th...

Re: Spacesuit pressure limits, what's reasonable?

I agree with AA - any substantial firefighting effort would have to account for the threat of sudden vacuum, and since this entire thing started because of the firesuit... I do not think I have seen any minor fires where overpressure became a hazard (and if you are carrying a fire extinguisher, you ...

Re: [Discussion] Full Tile Windows

The biggest issue is that it will be a LOT harder to surreptitiously enter via window from the exterior without setting off air alarms since you won't be able to restrict the breach to just the window tiles themselves. I never found it all that hard to replace dual tile windows anyways. Pane 1, gril...

Re: [Discussion] Player Run Events

I was thinking more like a grab bag of creative writing prompts like "SolGov is planning to visit the facility. What happens next?" That sort of thing - simple, basic, very open ended story starters for people who want to make an event but can't get over the initial hurdle of the blank page.

Re: [Discussion] Player Run Events

Do you think one or two sentence "writing prompts" would help get people started with a little less pressure?

Re: [Discussion] BrainMed

Rebalancing weapons should really be its own thread, since it's going to start it's own arguments and can be implemented separately from any medical rewrite before being patched later. That said, you could just remove that whole lasers cause blood loss as a quick and easy nerf if it's really needed;...
